The primary purpose of this church is the same as it was for God's people from the beginning of time.  Jesus clearly summed up all the commandments of the law and all the preaching of the prophets with a small but powerful word---LOVE.

The United Presbyterian Church has many programs which reach out to those needing assistance or a friend to talk to.

United Mornings:

This is a breakfast program which is open to people of ALL ages.  Here at the United Presbyterian Church, we are all unbelievably proud of this program.  United Mornings are held every Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday during the summer from 9-10am.  This year we will be beginning United mornings on June 16th

Friendship Dinners:

A continuation of the United Mornings program, the Friendship Dinners are held the 2nd Wednesday of each month during the fall, winter, and spring months.  This is a great time for community members and church members to connect over a delicious meal.

Fresh Express:

This program provides fresh produce and other food items to qualifying families within our community.  It works in conjunction with the Westmoreland County Food Bank and is held a few times a year.

Food Bank:

This is operated on the first Saturday following the first Thursday of every month.  Confusing?  Yes.  But, after a while we all get the hang of it.  We work with the Westmoreland County Food Bank who delivers the food for us on the Thursday.  We pack and distribute it on the following Saturday.  The local Boy Scout Troop and our congregation members also donate food for our use.
